Dr. Carla is certified in Active Release Technique® for spine, lower extremity, upper extremity and Active Palpation. A combination of her extensive knowledge of rehabilitation and ART® allows her to treat a variety of injuries successfully.
Dr. Carla believes that all good care starts with a thorough assessment that involves functional movement testing, muscle testing, orthopedic and neurological testing. She believes in taking the time to explain what is happening so that the patient understands and feels comfortable moving ahead with treatment.
Her ongoing commitment to education allows her to customize a treatment plan is specific to the patient and can combine ART®, exercise education, physical therapy such as ultrasound and adjustments that can be hands-on or with an instrument.
Meredith Cossitt | Chiropodist
Meredith Cossitt has 10 years experience working as a Chiropodist (Foot Specialist). She is a graduate of the Michener Institute of Applied Health Sciences and a registered member of the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
Meredith has always wanted to pursue a career in healthcare. She completed her Honours BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Waterloo and began working as a medical research associate. After a number of years in the lab, Meredith decided to pursue a career that would put her on the front lines of patient care and enrolled in the Chiropody program.
Meredith takes pride in providing gentle and thorough foot care. She is warm, caring and patient. She enjoys listening to the stories her patients tell, as long as they are willing to hear a few of her own (usually about her adorable cat).
She treats patients of all ages, from young children to patients in their nineties! Meredith especially enjoys treating people with pain from corns or ingrown toenails, because they are so happy to experience the immediate relief chiropody treatment can provide.
Meredith has completed training in different nail bracing techniques, which are non-invasive ways of treating ingrown toenails. These can be especially useful for patients who are not eligible for surgical procedures, such as some diabetic patients.
Custom-made foot orthotics are an important part of Meredith’s practice. These devices work to support patient’s feet and accommodate numerous foot issues.
Meredith performs a thorough biomechanical exam and gait analysis before prescribing orthotics. She uses the tried and tested method of plaster casting to make moulds of patients’ feet, which are then sent to a lab off site which specializes in the production of custom orthotics.

Alana McDaid | Manual Osteopath
Alana McDaid is a manual osteopath, graduating from the National Academy of Osteopathy. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Brock University. Between her studies, she has acquired knowledge which she uses in her treatment plans for patients in order to help alleviate pain and inflammation while improving range of motion and circulation.
As a manual osteopath, Alana uses hands on therapy to help relieve myofascial restrictions within the body. Her ability to release restrictions and find the source of the problem allows her to create a treatment plan tailored to the patient that includes advice on stretches and exercises that they can do at home.
Alana has taken advanced training in craniosacral work (Link to 4.4) which addresses the cerebrospinal fluid motion in the body. This very gentle type of hands-on treatment helps conditions such as:
-
headaches and migraines,
-
chronic pain within the neck or back,
-
concussions,
-
fibromyalgia,
-
motor-coordination impairments.

In addition to craniosacral work, Alana offers visceral manipulation which involves using the organs to ease restrictions. Visceral work helps alleviate problems such as bloating and constipation, acid reflux, nausea, bladder incontinence, breathing difficulties and even neck pain.
If you or someone you know is dealing with any of these complications or you just want to find out more, please come in and speak with Alana today!
